Last night my son and I were sitting at home watching t.v. when the doorbell rang. I couldn't imagine who would be outside in the middle of a snowy, windy, very cold night. I opened the door and there was a gift bag on our doorstep with a jar full of coins and the book.
I don't know who did this, but it was a blessing nonetheless.
Most people would look at my life right now and think I should be depressed...my husband and I are getting a divorce and work is stressful to say the least right now, especially given the economy. And just this morning my grandfather passed away.
The funny thing is, I feel so blessed most days! God has given me so much and I just can't imagine why He allowed me to be blessed even more with this Christmas Jar. I am very humbled.
I cannot wait to start this tradition with my teenage son...it's such a fabulous way to teach him to be selfless and giving.

Wow Jason...that's awesome! Thanks for sharing these inspiring stories.
ReplyDeleteI am getting so excited as Christmas Eve draws nearer and I anticipate giving away my first Christmas Jar. These stories make me tingle with excitement as I plan my strategy. Shall I ring the bell and run? Should I ring the bell, hand them the jar and turn and leave? I don't know, but I'll let you know!
