We have our first jar sighting of the year!

I just stumbled across this post on someone's blog:

http://big-dogdaddy.blogspot.com/2007/12/good-news.html

There is nothing I love more than real life stories of folks giving and receiving jars. Congrats to this family for receiving a jar, and special thanks to whatever family saw a need and acted. I'm sure all will be blessed for this early Christmas miracle.

EXCERPT FROM THEIR BLOG:

So the Lord does work in mysterious ways. We were sitting here this morning and we got a knock on the door. There ways a lady their that Laura didn't know holding a jar and a book. The book is Christmas Jars, and in the jar a houndred dollar bill and a bunch of change, in all it adds up to about 180.00. Now Damians parents will have a christmas too, and Damians will be even nicer. And will have gas money to drive to logan and springvill for the holidays. This whole exprience this week has been very humbling.

  1. This is Nate the recipient of the Christmas Jar. What would be interesting to some people is that the Jar truly came as a blessing, as I was let-go from my job on Monday 12/10 and we were trying to decide how we were going to make ends meet. Jason thank you for such an inspirational book and thanks to who ever felt inspired to spread a little Christmas cheer.

  3. This is a nieghbor of Nates and someone left my wife and me a jar with ~$180 also. I didn't even know about Nates blessing until I look at this website today in search of more information of what the Christmas Jar is all about. This really is a great blessing for us. These past few months have been a little hard, my wife was in a car accident a couple months ago and has only recently gone back to work. In the mean time I have been going to school full time and work full time, all the while trying to take care of my wife and our two kids, with us expecting our third kid. This is just a boost that will help us out through this time with us being excited for me finishing up my schooling in May.
Whoever you are that did this thank you for your kindness and may the Lord bless you.

  5. Jason, I still can't believe that you read my post. When I figured out who you were I about decided to give up blogging altogether. I always knew blogging was going to get me into trouble! I am so sorry! I have to say, I am very glad that your book has inspired so many people to be so generous and giving. That is something this world needs more of and I do admire you for being able to inspire people to be better!

  6. Jessica, NO NEED to apologize. I'll never get any better if people don't share their opinions. So keep 'em coming!

  8. What a wonderful story... and I hope that it continues! I saw the Christmas Jar story on a news channel last year and decided I wanted our office to do it..I made the jar, decorated it all cool and stuff, however, I continued on with my busy life and never got around to emailing the office. So today was our Christmas party as I gathered up the goodies from my bag I looked over and saw my empty jar... I immediately rushed over to my computer and sent out an email and told them the Story of the Christmas Jar....I put the Jar up front and within a few minutes I could hear the wonderful sound of change dropping in the jar. I'm so excited to see what becomes of this next Christmas Eve... I do hope that we make a difference in someone's life and that the cycle of good deeds continue in a hard world we live in.... thanks for this wonderful idea!!! God Bless and Merry Christmas!
